The best beaches in Ibiza

Located on the north of the island, Cala Salada is a lovely beach surrounded by a green pine forest with beautifully clear turquoise waters and soft white sand. Only a 15 minute drive from San Antonio, it is a fairly quiet beach, but can get busy on weekends with local residents and private boat owners. There are sunbeds and parasols along with the popular Restaurante Cala Salada, which offers traditional dishes as well as a kiosk offering cold drinks and ice creams.
Cala Bassa
A great all-rounder, Cala Bassa beach is a popular choice for tourists and locals. It is easily accessible by road or boat, with a 15 minute ferry from San Antonio running throughout the summer. It is a great place to sunbathe but also offers shade in the form of the leafy junipers and pine trees that line the beach. There is a wide range of facilities including sunbeds and parasols, showers, toilets and changing rooms along with water sports, four restaurants, beach bars, shops and boutiques.
Cala Conta
On the north-west of the island, Cala Conta is the most popular beach to watch the world famous Ibiza sunset. A varied beach with a rocky coastline, sand dunes and small islands at its mouth, it is actually three beaches in one. There are two main stretches of sand along with a small hidden cove at the far end often used by naturists. With soft and fine sand, it is surrounded by natural parkland and offers stunning views. There are a number of restaurants and bars with the most popular being the Sunset Ashram which separates the two main beaches.
Agua Blancas
Located close to San Carlos and Santa Eulalia on the North East side of the Island, it is usually fairly calm and perfect for snorkelling, plus when the winds rise there are often some waves which are ideal for a spot of surfing. This popular beach during Ibiza Holidays is a great place to grab a drink or something to eat in the evenings with two beach bars, beautiful sunsets and locals often playing music.
Cala Xarraca
Close to Portinatx, the small bay of Cala Xarraca is very popular with scuba divers and snorkelers due to its crystal-clear turquoise waters. It is a small sandy beach (90 metres long) with a unique natural mud bath said to have healing properties, where you can get a free facial. There is one main restaurant which is family run and offers a variety of gorgeous food.
Las Salinas
One of the trendiest beaches, Las Salinas is located on the southernmost tip of the island close to Playa den Bossa. Offering fine white sand, flanked by dunes and pine trees, it has some of the best beach bars in Ibiza, playing quality music which can be heard from your sunbed. This buzzing beach has a lively atmosphere and is popular with celebrities including Jade Jagger and Kate Moss.
