If you consider the ski cost itself, you may think ski centers in the eastern European countries such as Poland, Bulgaria, Hungary and Slovenia are the cheapest. But you need to know that Polish, Bulgarian, Hungarian and Slovak ski resorts are generally very small and only have a few lifts and the difference in elevation is limited. Although accommodations are really the most affordable in the whole continent, the ski bundles remain expensive enough. For instance, Kranjska Gora in Slovenia proposes a full day’s skiing in its slope at 31.50€ and Maribor at 29.50€, while in Jasna in Slovakia, the price rises at 35€. In France, ski resorts of a comparable size like Les Saisies propose a bundle at about 32€. It is therefore essential to calculate the prices of the flight, the transfer, the accommodation and the skiing package.
Is Skiing in Andorra really Cheaper?
Thanks to its special tax-exempt status, Andorra offers interesting pricings especially in terms of accommodations. Vallnord and Grandvalire, the most popular ski resorts of the country, are very well-equipped and the ski areas are just as big as those of the Pyrenees. There, you can enjoy skiing or even hiking, there are tons to keep you as busy as a crafting bee! The ski pricing is almost the same as in French resorts of such scale but the accommodation and the living standard are way more interesting. You can choose a starred hotel or a luxury chalet at a lower price and restaurant, shopping, fuel prices are the cheapest. Plus, Andorra is located near enough the French Pyrenees, only 2h30 drive from Toulouse.
Is France the Best Choice?
Well, we all know that France abounds with the best ski slopes in the world. They propose prestigious chalets with all the comfort one can ever dream for a perfect winter vacations.
